Workers Compensation
If you are injured at work Workers Compensation (Compo) means that you can receive medical treatment and assistance . All employees have a right to workers compensation.
Workers Compensation will cover you for medical expenses and wages to varying degrees and dependant on your circumstances. There are defined procedures that you must follow to ensure that you do not jeopardize your entitlement to workers compensation, these include:
- Reporting all workplace injuries (including minor ones)
- Complete the relevant report form and claim for compensation form as soon as possible after the incident or accident
- Attach any medical certificates and expenses that occur as a result of the incident that caused the injury
- Keep a copy of all relevant documents
